Partnering to build a better world where all species on earth live in harmony

Various types of pollution, human activities and urbanisation are rapidly destroying the invaluable and abundant wealth of Mother Nature. We have consumed a lot from the environment. But what we are giving back to it? This is the big question that bothers no one. We have denuded the rain forests. Large scale uncontrolled mining has exploited not only the coal and mineral resources, but also destroyed the pristine environment. What is the best that we can do now? The answer is simple: Plant a fruit-bearing tree. And make it a habit. Every year in the months of June and July, don't forget to plant a dozen saplings. Make it a custom to plant a sapling on the occasion of every birthday or anniversary. Don't forget to provide a little shade and pour two to five litres of water once a week. Your care required for just two to four years. By doing this, you will be rendering a great service to humankind and Mother Nature. Encourage your spouse, relatives, friends and neighbors to plant saplings in the surrounding areas. Join hands with schools, colleges, youth clubs, students associations, social service organisations etc. in sharing the information, spreading the green cover and worshiping Mother Earth.

My spiritual connection with Mother Nature dates back to my school days. We lived in a place which was covered from all corners by the lush green forests of the Western Ghats. Like me, daily over 100 pupils crossed streams and rivers, climbed hills and walked through the woods to reach the school, which was about eight kilometers away from home. Living in the lap of Mother Nature, we children never felt hungry though there was no abundance of food those years.

Our Vision and Mission

Conservation of Environment:

Conservation is vital in saving and helping both flora and fauna as we are all dependent on one another for survival. Saving the environment from the loss of species and the destruction of the ecosystem, primarily due to pollution and human activities.

Legal Support for Conservation:

Public interest litigation is one of the effective mechanisms for the protection and conservation of fast deteriorating environment and natural resources in India. The Indian judicial system has played a very important role in the formulation of various principles and doctrines as also the development of environmental legislation, rules and regulations.

Awareness and Education:

Awareness is the key to protecting the environment. Promoting environmental awareness is an easy way to become an environmental activist and participate in creating a brighter future for our children. Right to clean and healthy environment is guaranteed as a part of our Fundamental Rights under Article 21 of the Constitution. But still for better environmental conditions to prevail, public awareness programmes need to be conducted so that people can be aware of their rights and duties and environment can be preserved in a better way.
